This extremely rare small-size raw Colombianite, traditionally known as Piedra de Rayo ("Stone of Lightning"), is a fascinating pseudo-tektite and approximately 30-million-year-old form of ancient volcanic obsidian glass from Colombia. This one-of-a-kind piece has an especially unusual irregular form—slightly rounded and oval-like from one side, while the opposite side is sculpted by pronounced natural grooves that create almost paw-like contours. Its surface combines deeply grooved areas with smoother sections displaying diagonal striations, along with scattered dimples, etchings, and worm-like markings. When strongly illuminated from behind, the dark glass becomes remarkably translucent and appears nearly clear, revealing tiny brown specks within the material.
