Septarian Matching Nodule Pair 65.2mm. Natural Dragon Stone, 2 Face Polished Pieces, Utah USA

This one-of-a-kind natural Septarian Nodule Pair from Utah was cut from a single nodule, creating two matching pieces with face-polished interiors and naturally smooth outer surfaces. When opened, the two polished faces reveal an especially intricate network of cream-to-off-white mineral-filled fractures against deep gray to nearly black areas, surrounded by layered brown and tan tones. Much of the pattern consists of very fine Calcite-filled lines forming numerous small sections with extensive branching and veining, while several much thicker formations provide dramatic contrast. One prominent formation has a horseshoe-like geometric shape, and another forms an almost perfectly heart-shaped outline near the center of one piece. A few small Pyrite inclusions also produce metallic flashes as the specimen is moved under the light.

Old Stock & Natural Pair Note
• This is old-stock material that has been in storage for approximately 20 years
• A faint, orange-toned band or discoloration remains on a small portion of the natural exterior from the material originally used to secure the two pieces together during storage. Nearly all residue has been removed, and no chemicals were used to clean the specimen.
• One half has an approximately 1.25" section along the outer edge where a portion appears to have naturally broken away at some point, creating a visible gap when the two halves are placed together. This area is unpolished but does not affect the polished interior pattern.
• Interestingly, the gap provides a natural cross-sectional view into the nodule. Several of the white mineral-filled fracture lines can be seen continuing down into the exposed material, showing how the pattern extends beneath the polished face and deeper into the nodule. A close-up photo is included to clearly show this feature.
• Because these are natural nodules that have been cut and individually face polished by hand, the two pieces may not meet perfectly flush around every outer edge. The corresponding interior pattern confirms that both pieces are from the same original nodule.
