Pietersite Gemstone Sphere 37.3mm with Gold, Blue & Red Chatoyancy + Pyrite Inclusions

You will receive the exact Pietersite gemstone sphere shown in the photos. This small—but not tiny—37.3mm sphere weighs approximately 72.5 grams / 2.56 oz and displays extremely intense golden chatoyancy layered together with deep blue and reddish fire throughout the stone.

This piece constantly shifts between gold, red, and blue depending on lighting and viewing angle. Some areas display bright metallic gold flash so intense it almost appears illuminated, while other sections reveal darker storm-like blues and layered reddish tones woven through the fibrous structure of the material. In certain areas, the red and gold chatoyancy blend so closely together that the colors almost merge into a fiery copper-like effect before separating again under changing light.

The sphere also displays excellent dimensional structure throughout the material, including visible fibrous layering, chaotic swirling patterns, and areas where different colors appear stacked over one another deep inside the stone. Some sections even reveal contrasting metallic inclusions and reflective mineral structure that add additional depth and complexity in person.

This is a genuine natural Pietersite sphere that has been carefully shaped and polished to highlight the stone’s natural movement, chatoyancy, and internal character. Pietersite is often referred to as the “Tempest Stone” because of its chaotic fibrous patterns and storm-like light-play. No two pieces ever display movement exactly the same way, which is part of what makes this material so mesmerizing to collectors--and one of my personal favorites!

Despite the smaller size, this sphere has exceptionally strong visual impact and displays far more depth and movement than many people would expect from a piece of this diameter. The bright golden flash, layered structure, and constantly changing color transitions make this a particularly eye-catching example of high quality Pietersite.

True commercial Pietersite is primarily mined in Namibia and China. Based on appearance and material quality, this sphere is most likely Namibian material, though exact mine origin cannot be guaranteed without laboratory testing.
